  Don't stay if you want a good sleep.
  We arrived at tea time on Friday and shown to our room by a pleasant young lady who was working the bar. The decor was dated and carpets were loose on the stairs (tripping hazard).
  
  The room itself was a little small (as was the en suite) and again the decor dated. It was, however, clean. Despite offering free wifi on the board outside the pub, this apparently was also not available in our room.
  
  A meal in the restaurant was nice and decent value too as was the breakfast. The beer was also good with a decent choice.
  
  However, our stay was really let down by the unacceptable noise. There was a party with a disco at the pub. This was very loud and prevented sleep. I could perhaps have accepted this if it had stopped between 11 and 12 (although even this would have been hard to take if I'd had kids with me).
  
  What is NOT acceptable is for this music to continue until 2.45 am preventing sleep. I, in fact, became so exasperated I came downstairs after 2.00am to ask if they could turn it off. The barman assured me he would do so and tell the DJ (again) as he had already done so allegedly.
  
  The DJ and music continued until 2.45.
  
  Sadly this made what could have been a pleasant stay in to an unpleasant one. I had very little sleep (which I needed) before a long walk the following day. I really did begrudge the fact that the room we were in was not suitable for a nights sleep with a disco going on and I had forked out £70 for the privilege.

  Staff were friendly, service was prompt and polite. The food was exceptional, and homemade. We had a lovely lunch for 8, and will definitely visit again.

  Arrived at 20:55 on a Tuesday night, and the pub finishes food at 21:00, they were good enough to allow us to order and the barman was in good spirit and welcoming throughout. There is no cash point in here although some may say there is.
